Project Manager

Description

The Project Manager leads several project teams and works in partnership with our Project Operations and Field Management to foster great client relationships, develop our employees, and oversee the safe construction of high quality, profitable, and on schedule projects.

Major Responsibilities

      • Send out bid packages and collect multiple proposals for each trade using Procore

      • Manage client and project expectations.

      • Responsible for weekly external and internal reporting.

      • Manage direct reports, and multiple sub-contractors, for solar projects.

      • Page turn with each major subcontractor to review drawings and provide list of submittals needed.

      • Coordinate with internal departments (safety, engineering, quality, supply chain, construction, etc.).

      • Responsible for cost and scheduling goals and project schedule including development, metrics, maintenance of the schedule to report weekly to executives on % complete, etc.

      • Responsible for project budget, risk management, safety, and quality.

      • Ensure subcontractors are in compliance with all permits and laws, and mitigation measures on the project.

      • Secure all permits needed and maintain high level contact with permitting officials.

      • Oversee the management of the system design and construction process.

      • Make sure that all RFI’s and Submittals are responded to in a timely manner.

      • Ensure all Company procured materials are ordered and delivered to site in the required timeline.

      • Work with procurement team to identify and order long lead substation equipment negotiation and execute the contract associated Purchase Order/ associated invoices.

      • Work with Procurement team to identify and solicit contracting partners, hold pre-bid meetings, training sessions.

      • Manage subcontracts once executed including tracking deliverables, schedules, payments due, managing change orders, and providing notices or dispute resolution if required.

      • Manage punch list, demobilization and financial close out of project.

      • Other related duties as assigned or needed.

Preferred skills/knowledge

      • 5-10 years of experience in project management

      • Experience in successfully leading utility scale solar projects to on-schedule and within budget completion

      • Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team members accountable

      • Background in project start-up meetings, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, owner estimates, sub/vendor requisitions and cost to completes

      • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving project issues, prioritizing and decision-making

      • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret contract and insurance documents

      • Proven success developing cost to complete estimates, costing, and pricing change orders, and maximizing profits

      • Excellent teamwork, communication, leadership, people, and time management skills

      • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from stakeholders, executives, team members, and peers

      • Strong process orientation

      • Construction safety awareness and comprehension

      • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required

      • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project (or similar scheduling software), and Bluebeam (or similar) with experience presenting to stakeholders and senior leadership

Physical requirements and environment:

Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting, or carrying up to 40 pounds.

License/Certification:

      • Must have a valid current driver license and be eligible for corporate vehicle insurance

      • OSHA 10 and/or 30 certifications

      • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
