Description

The Project Accountant will participate in all accounting and financial activities relating to the company's
projects. The role will be to provide reporting and accounting support to the accounting team.

Major Responsibilities

  • Completes initial set up of assigned projects.
  • Gains understanding of the billing requirements of assigned projects.
  • Generates project billings.
  • First line of review/approval of AP invoices after entered by AP department.
  • Prepares month-end project financial reports.
  • Tracks and communicates project-related financial issues to the Project Accounting Manager
  • Prepares and reviews project accruals at month-end with project teams.
  • Prepares and reviews billing forecast for assigned projects (initial and monthly updates thereafter).
  • Tracks and provides solutions for assigned projects with Cost in Excess of Billings.
  • Prepares and reviews assigned owner change orders.
  • Works with multiple departments related to the projects.
  • Gathers approvals, signatures and notarizes (when applicable) payment applications, lien waivers, and change orders.
  • Works to support project teams and customers.
  • Manages and prioritizes workload to meet project timelines.
  • Successfully interacts with other departments to improve efficiencies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (focus on Excel for data analysis) and Smartsheet.
  • Relevant working experience in construction is helpful

Physical Requirements and Environment

Typical office environment. Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting, or carrying up to 40 pounds.
